Additional Product Information
The current Madison Square Garden opend in 1968 and is the fourth arena to have the name which honors the fourth US President, James Madison. Situated above Pennsylvania Station in midtown Manhattan, its creation was a significant engineering accomplishment as it was one of the first structures to be built above an active railroad staion. Upon its opening, the New York Rangers, one of the Original Six teams that formed the foundation of the NHL, called MSG home. It is the oldest arena in the NHL and has hosted three NHL All Star Games, three Stanley Cup Finals, and many other world-watched sporting, musical, political, and cultural events. The original seats were red at the ice level. The next level up was orange, then yellow and green, and "Blue Heaven" at the top. Tokens & Icons spent an inordinate amount of time trying to locate any of these original seats, which were replaced around 1992. Besides the usual vintage seat sources, Tokens also attempted to contact the architects with no success.( If you know of their whearabouts, Tokens is interested!). Thus, the vinyl turquoise seats used in these cuff links were installed during the 2011-13 renovation.
